The Pharmacy Technician - TPE position is a grant-funded research project for 1 year.The responsibility for the Pharmacy Technician - TPE would be to assist the research team in collecting research data during patients' hospital stay and subsequent home visits. Activities include assisting with patient specific research data collection related to medication management and obtaining and organizing information such as patient demographics, medication histories, and other needed research data.

Shift: Days

Hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Pay Grade: 37

Updates and documents patient demographics and allergy information. Accurately manages claims to prescription insurance plans. Accurately transcribes prescription information into pharmacy software system. Assist with accurate filling of outpatient prescriptions at patient's pharmacy of choice. Troubleshoots prescription insurance plan rejections, restrictions, and prior authorizations requirements. Ensures appropriate handoff and storage of discharge medications to when delivered to unit.

Requires a high school diploma or equivlent. Must be certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy.
