Looking for a new and exciting career opportunity? Omnicell is currently hiring an IV Pharmacy Technician to join our IV Automated Services team with the talent to lead a cutting-edge opportunity atUniversity of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, MD. This position is a day shift/weekday schedule.
The IV Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for utilizing i.v.STATION to produce compounded sterile products as directed by the customer during his/her scheduled hours. You will work collaboratively with Program Management, Project Managers and Engineers as well as hospital project team members, to ensure customer’s productive use of the IV automation products. You will prepare and maintain i.v.STATION for daily use, perform general equipment troubleshooting, review / maintain reports and identify any customer concerns to the Program Manager.

Utilize i.v.STATION to compound formulations as directed by the Customer during scheduled hours.
Utilize Label + checkout software to create custom labels, if available.
Add lot numbers and expiration dates in the IV Profile, as directed by the Customer’s policies and procedures.
Store completed preparations as directed by Customer.
Perform daily and periodic cleaning of the equipment according to the Company’s recommended best practices.
Inspect robot cell daily for issues, wear, and functionality.
Resolve common system issues.
Monitor trends to help determine root cause of issues.
Perform environmental monitoring activities for the i.v.STATION.
Perform media fill testing using i.v.STATION as per Customer requirements.
Manage the production and preparation of samples for beyond-use-date (BUD) on behalf of the Customer.
Recommend drugs to be added to Omnicell IV automation products based on data usage, demand, and workflow.
Maintain a high level of communication to ensure proactive, solution-oriented problem identification and resolution.
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by aligning the IV Services program to provide customer-focused support emphasizing quality, professionalism and responsiveness.
Conduct per diem employee orientation and training, and ensure completion of all required documents and compliance with all procedures and policies.
Promote and optimize customer product ownership and satisfaction by serving as a skilled resource.
Participates in planning processes by establishing personal goals to support quality improvement.
Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
Comply with reasonable procedures, policies and guidelines established by the Customer facility.
Maintain fiscal responsibility for work-related expenses associated with timekeeping and per diem employees.
Maintain state and/or national credentialing to meet established guidelines.
Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques.
Working knowledge of Aseptic Work Practices, and Cleaning/Disinfection Procedures.
Good organizational skills, accurate, reliable and efficient.
Demonstrated customer-facing skills.
Strong interpersonal, communications and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work with mechanical equipment.
Working knowledge of computer hardware, PC Windows.
High school diploma or GED
Maryland Pharmacy Technician Registration/License
One year of experience with I.V. preparations
Previous experience in hospital pharmacy or healthcare industry.
Two plus years of experience with I.V. preparations.
Knowledge of pharmacy automation
IV clean room environment.
Potential exposure to hazardous substances.
Capable of standing for several hours at a time.
Able to lift 25 – 30 lbs.
- Selected candidates may be required to pass a math aptitude test.
